    1. This is a good, not great, collective biography. There's a few extra tidbits that those particularly interested in the Romanovs would find interesting, especially the whole question of GD Serge and Ella's marriage. The author has also written a fictional account of these people under the name Theresa Sherman, and the title is "The Royal Mob."For the longer review, please go here:epinions/review/Ilana_

    2. This was FASCINATING. If you're at all interested in some of Queen Victoria's lesser known grandchildren (and really, calling Victoria that seems weird), this book is definitely worth tracking down.Victoria of many different places was a plucky lady. I like her.

    4. I waited several long years for this book and was not disappointed. I know Ilana (full disclosure) and I know the pride & passion she put into this work. All of it I'd fully realized in this sweeping tale of 4 of Queen Victoria's most notable granddaughters. The work centers on Princess Victoria and this remarkable princess is well-able to hold the story. A must read for fans of royal history.

    5. This was so well researched, I was so impressed by it. If this is a family/area you're interested in I highly recommend it. It's centred on Victoria of Hesse (Prince Phillip's maternal grandmother), so all the events are presented through her, which isn't a bad thing, just not something I expected going in to this.
