    1. The overall synopsis of this book, is about the famous Elmer (the patchwork elephant) and his friend Super El. Whilst having his usual morning walk, Elmer runs into Super El who has realised that his superhero outfit has torn due to walking past a thorn bush. Elmer advises Super El that Aunt Zelda would definitely be able to fix it, and thus, they begin a journey through the forest to get to her. However, Super El has a problem. He does not want to be seen in a torn outfit at all! He strongly be [...]

    2. elmer takes super el to his aunt who fixes his super hero costume. it was kindof neat how they were able to sneak past everyone.

    3. Laugh out loud strategies to get Super El across the jungle for help repairing his superhero outfit! Perfect for pre-K crowd that thinks superheroes are cool but doesn't need to see mayhem on the page.Pros: adventurous but not scary or violent, helpful elderly aunt comes to the rescue and is shown with active social lifeCons: jokes about being hard of hearing, I change the wording for my non-reading little one from "That thornbush attacked me!" to "I got stuck in that thornbush!" as an explanati [...]

    4. Super El is Elmer's friend (cousin? I might have missed a book or two) wearing a super hero outfit. Super El's costume needs to be repaired but he's worried about being embarrassed if other animals see his torn outfit. Elmer covers for him in a variety of fun and inventive ways. Aunt Zelda repairs the outfit and Elmer proves himself to be a good egg yet again.

    5. I must confess, I'm not one hundred percent sure where this book was meant to go. Don't get me wrong, I love multi-coloured elephants as much as the next girl, but I found myself very confused. The book felt a bit aimless and strung together. I won't say I'll never read this again. I just need to try to figure out what the story is supposed to be.

    6. Elmer saves the day by helping his friend avoid embarassment. His friend, Super El did not want anyone to see his torn garments. Elmer distracted friends during their trek to visit Aunt Zelda. The preschool kids enjoyed this book during storytime. The kids discussed, observed and enjoyed the colorful illustrations.

    7. While walking through the jungle, Elmer, the plaid elephant comes upon a small elephant with a problem. Elmer's clever, funny jokes help Super El get to Aunt Zelda for a much needed sewing repair to his super costume. Reviewer 17

    8. My kids get these books more than I do, but it was fun reading it with two of my sons and they enjoyed the character of Super El.

    9. Colorful story that would make a fun read aloud to small children. Elmer Elephant makes distractions for Super El who is trying to not be seen in his torn super-suit.

    10. Elmer the patchwork elephant distracts his animal friends from noticing Super El's torn costume until he can escort him to Aunt Zelda who mends Super El's clothes.
