    1. I am having a hard time putting into words how I feel about this book. I knew when I first started it I was in for a rough time when it came to reviewing. But I kept plugging away at the story just to see what would happen with Briar and Uthiel. I have to say that the underlying story was interesting and had a good plotline to it. However the pure amount of unadulterated sex was very distracting and I don’t mean sexually and I am in no way a prude when it comes to sex in book. Let me explain w [...]

    2. This was quite an entertaining read full of comedy, adventure and some steaming hot loving. The plot, characters and creatures were so wonderfully thought out and even though she introduced quite a few different characters and there was a lot of information, it all flowed well and I was able to keep up. I had no expectations when I started this book but now I have high expectations when I go to read the next book from this author because she really impressed me with this one!Briar and Uthiel wer [...]

    3. ARC Review: My Rating 4.5It's been a while since I've reviewed an ARC and when I was given a list I picked this book and I am SO happy I did. I loved this book- it has everything I love in a book- a HOT guy, humor, oh the humor (I seriously giggled and laughed out loud over a few things), sweet loving and smoking HOT sex, mystical characters (gnomes & dragons) and a real romance. Briar is a young woman who sort of fibbed her way into The Academy of Magical Arts and (if this school was real I [...]

    4. **I received this book in exchange for an honest review (LoP or Lovers of Paranormal)**In this first book we are introduced to a new and brilliant fantasy world which is extremely saucy. I mean so saucy that there is a class which is pretty much anything and everything sexual. The main characters Briar and Uthiel are from two very different places in this fantasy kingdom. Briar is an innocent twenty one year old who wants to become a healer, in every sense of the word and since the class healing [...]

    5. Carla's Review:Briarlarn Tumbleweed is attending The Academy of Magical Arts to become a True Healer. In the world Maxine created, sex is something that is used to heal and woman are deflowered when they come of age by a man of the mothers choosing. Being that Briar's mother passed away before she hit adulthood, her father could never bring himself to find a man to deflower Briar and she has remained a virgin. Which is totally unheard of at The Academy. Especially since Briar is training to beco [...]

    6. I gotta be honest, this lost me almost from the first page. I have nothing against erotica. I like erotica. But with a new and complex world, I think some time needs to be spent with world building and character development first before jumping into crazy sex scenes. I didn't know or care about Briar yet to be invested in her before she started acting like an bumbling idiot. Then suave/creepy/random dude shows up. Is it normal in this sexually charged world for someone to kiss someone else momen [...]

    7. Briar wishes to learn the Healing Arts and to do so she lies her way into magic school. This magic school is no Hogwarts, they have lessons in sexual healing and 'how to be a Dominatrix' alongside their potions lessons. Briar while confident in the academic side of the work has little or no experience in the practical but that changes when she meets up with Uthiel, a Paladin. She confides her secrets in Uthiel, however he has his own secrets, can they aid each other to overcome their fears and f [...]

    8. Briar has a secret and so does the smoking hot Paladin Uthiel. They have this instant connection which leads Uthiel to help this damsel in distress solve a problem that could get her expelled from The Academy and destroy her dreams of becoming a True Healer. While helping Briar with her secret she discovers his, Briar will stop at nothing to help heal the Paladin who has stolen her heart. Along the way we learn there is more at stake than just her dreams and his heart, we realize that this love [...]

    9. There is so much going on in this book, it's hard to put into words the world Maxine has created, other than to say I want to move there!Briar thinks of nothing more than becoming a true healer and will stop at nothing to achieve this goal and even attends The Academy of Magical Arts to ensure this dream comes true. However she is hiding a secret that she needs to resolve as quick as she can to remain in the Academy. Uthiel has his own secrets but meets Briar and decides to help her out of her j [...]

    10. *DISCLAIMER: I received free copy of this book in exchange for a honest review via Lovers of Paranormal group. This book is meant for an Adult audience. This book combines humor, erotica and fantasy. The damsel in distress meets her knight in shinning armor but who rescues who? This book left me with mixed feelings. I loved certain characteristics of the story, the humor being the best of all. I loved the openness of the author to consider all passionate encounters as normal and acceptable. The s [...]

    11. Won a copy courtesy of the author on First-Reads. Well, this was a first for me, but an amusing one. I have to admit I normally don't read this type of 'romantic' genre, however Mrs. Mansfield gives the story more than enough plot and humor to make it worthwhile, and then some. If you like a good fantasy story, but think it lacks some X-rated content, this will hit the spot. Take a shot of Hogwarts, mix in a splash of Dragonlance, and top it with a dash of unedited Dennis Leary, and you have 'To [...]

    12. I loved this book! It reminded me of everything that I look for in an adult film- deeply developed characters with understandable motivations, a well thought out plot with surprises, a healthy dose of fantasy, and sex scenes that inspired me to take some "alone time". Overall I really enjoyed this book & will probably keep it to lend out & reread for quite some time. I am hoping I can find a way to get other stories by this author as well, because I truly enjoyed this read & had a ha [...]

    14. I was lucky enough to receive this book free in exchange for a review and wow, talk about hot and steamy. Briar and Uthiel happen to bump into each other and boy do the sparks fly. The character development was awesome, I really felt that I got to know Briar and Uthiel really well. I was actually bummed after reading the last page, it felt like losing friends. And the descriptions, I could picture it and so wanted to visit. It was fast paced and hard to put down, I couldn't stop reading it.

    15. I Have To Say I Was Really Impressed With This Book. I Loved All The Magic And Adventures And Love And Of Course The Sex Man This Book Was Hot. This Book Made Me Laugh So Hard I Just Couldnt Put It Down. I Have To Say Well Done If Your Looking For An Erotic Book That Could Also Make You Smile As Well As Make You Swoon Then You Have Found It. Awesome Job Maxine Mansfield What A Great Job Cant Wait To Read More From You.

    16. This is one of the most fun books you'll read this year. It's not often you find an erotic romance that has the sweetest hero and heroine in the world (but not Earth!) and the most outrageous cast of supporting characters ever! This is a true adult fairy tale and a wonderful debut from Maxine Mansfield!

    17. This book was wonderful!! I've never read a book like this. It was sexy, funny, weird (good weird), and I loved the Dom part of it!! The love she felt for him really did heal his soul. I hope this turns into a series!!The gnome was hilarious!!

    18. I sooo enjoyed this book. It was an easy read and it really drew you into the story. I couldn't put it down!! It had the right mix of drama as well as a little sex mixed in! I would definitely read more of this if there were a series =)

    19. I loved this book at times it had me laughing and other times it had me in tears. It is a wonderfully delightful romantic read that has you "hooked" & "lost" from the beginning. I was rooting for the hero/heroine all the way through. It is a 5 star read.

    20. TOUCHED BY THE MAGIC kept me laughing and turning pages.Unique characters and erotic story line were engaging and fun! (definitely NOT a Children's bedtime story)

    21. I could not put this book down. It's a must read for women. I can not wait for the next book to come out. Great job Maxine!!!

    22. Laugh out loud and be ready to be shocked. People who play online games will get a kick out of this. Oh, not PG rated.

    23. totally good. One of the most touching reading this year. If you love fairytale with a twist in it this book is a must read for you:)

    24. My Review:This was one of the most bizarre, incredibly creative books I think that I have ever read. I constantly was laughing out loud throughout the reading of it and I have no idea how to even explain it to you. The one thing that I kept thinking throughout the book was it's like the movie Barbarella (yes, that 1960's Jane Fonda movie) you know how it was completely sexual, but still really funny and bizarre and creative. That's exactly the way that this book was. On paper, it's probably desc [...]

    25. First of all, I know that a lot of hard work, and dedication went into this book. Congrats to Maxine! For the most part, I did enjoy the book overall. However, I have to agree with Christina M Condy's review about Briar not being so well written as Uthiel by comparison. For me, too many discrepancies with Briar's story line, and it was confusing at times, and not so believable as her being naive about sex and her sexuality.Meanwhile, Uthiel is a very well written character because you gave us hi [...]

    26. I got this book from the author, free of cost, in exchange of an honest review from my side.Firstly I would like to thank Maxine Mansfeild, the author of Touched by the Magic, for this fantastic opportunity that she presented me with by allowing me to review her work now moving on to the review part. That was really sexy and hot! Well that came to my mind first but apart from that it had a healthy dose of humour and some scenes were leave you with a hysterical laughing session, I must warn you at [...]

    27. ***I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the Author and the “Lovers of Paranormal” Group on ***I enjoyed reading this book, although inbetween I had the feeling the author lost track of the plot a little. I liked Briar who is so clumsy around Uthiel. There were quite a few situations where I had to laugh about her accidents. But I had a bit of a hard time with Briar's unnecessary crying and Uthiel's rejection of help and his self-pity.Also the last quarter of the book jus [...]
