    1. A story of struggle and redemptionLacey Chandler is trapped in an overweight body. She knows she should make a conscious effort to shed some pounds, but how can she when her life is fraught with stress? Her bitter, disabled mother, her demanding, irresponsible boss, and now her drug-addicted sister who dumps her child on Lacey, all sap Lacey’s energy without giving anything back.Caught in a spiral of self-destruction, Lacey begins to fight her way out. Her long time friend, Toby Wheeler, encou [...]

    2. Lacey Chandler has always been there for everyone else. However, she believes she is unworthy of love due to her weight issues. She cares for her mother, Betty, who is handicapped. Betty feels useless and often takes it out on Lacey. Her sister and niece come to stay, and Lacey soon finds herself caring for them as well. Local police chief Toby Wheeler has been fond of Lacey for years. He hates that she views herself in such a negative light. He hopes to use his faith to show her that she means [...]

    3. Worth Her Weight is a Women's Fiction book about food addiction, but Janet Brown writes in such a way that anyone could apply the lessons Lacey learns to their own area of weakness. It is a Christian book that shows Christian people have problems just like everyone else. Janet has overcome her own food addiction by losing almost 100 pounds several years ago and kept it off, so she knows personally of what she has written as a fictional story. Janet leads a weight loss group at her church and has [...]

    4. Thank you for sending me this book. From the outset we begin to realize that Lacey, whilst taking care of, and nurturing everyone around he doesn’t feel worthy of, or like herself, due to her weight issues. Her crutch in life, s food, which she enjoys, especially sweets and when she is stressed or low this is what she turns to. Body image, and how to deal with this runs alongside this story, and we travel with Lacey through her ups and downs. There is a message running through this book and I [...]

    5. I truly enjoyed Janet K. Brown's Worth Her Weight from the title to the opening to its lovely ending. What American woman (toothpick slim to lover of any food any time) doesn't think twice about her weight toward the obsessive side? Ms. Brown's Lacey is an amazingly strong and very realistic character that made the story come alive. And what I also enjoyed about this novel is that the author wasn't skeptical in focusing on the role of God in daily life--all in a pleasant non-sermon way. I'm look [...]

    6. This book is a hidden gem - one of those reads that is not easy to forget and will hit the reader in the heart at certain points. Read full review in the 2015 September issue of InD'tale Magazine.

    7. Great story about redemption and self worth. Wonderfully written, with characters that just make you root for them. Since I also struggle with weight, I really found myself relating to Lacey, the main character. I'll be reading more from Janet K. Brown.

    8. Sometimes those donuts, slice of cake, or an ice cream cone are too tempting. We eat a little, then a little more, and soon we notice we’ve gained weight. We also know why. It’s no big secret. We can’t stop eating though; we’re addicted to food.In Author Janet K. Brown’s novel, WORTH HER WEIGHT, Lacey Chandler has a weight problem. Her self-esteem is low. Will she ever marry? Why would any man be interested in her? Sometimes she’s so miserable she considers suicide. Troubles with her [...]
