    2. I imagine this hasn't been produced in a while, at least nowhere significant (wouldn't be surprised to discover I am wrong, but I am too lazy to go and check), but I think it may be the perfect time for a revival of Neil Simon's Last of the Red Hot Lovers. One man, three attempts to have an affair with three very different women. One location. Three different afternoons. It is a simple premise. It is full of laughs. It is very seventies, but not so much so that it couldn't slip into the 20-teens, [...]

    4. Wow. What made me remember this one? I performed a monologue from it in high school. There's this great character, a woman who is so depressed that she cannot taste food. Ok, I realize that doesn't sound so funny, but it is.It's mostly about a man who has three failed affairs. Each affair, each woman has her own issues. When you read this play, you feel sorry for everyone but at the same time you laugh at them. They are flawed but endearing.

    5. This is the first old school Simon play I've read in a while that I really like. Sure it's dated: so much a reflection of when it opened in 1969. But between the laughs, there's some heart. Especially in Act III.

    6. And the cynicism of the 70s creeps in. This is as disjointed a play as plaza suite is But conflicts at the centre are sound. It's snappy, but fluffy. It's a passionate play.

    7. This play is mostly very funny throughout. Barney plays a marvelous straight man to the various girls that he brings back to his mother's house. A little too extreme in all the characterizations for my taste but, hey, that's comedy. The premise is a little saddening, but the ending makes it almost all worth it. It certainly brings Barney's character up. So don't give up hope. The resolution is fabulous.

    8. Not my favorite Neil Simon, but I quite liked the idea of questioning whether or not you're really lived life. I didn't approve of how the main character dealt with his mid-life crisis, but nonetheless, as always, Simon has provided his readers and viewers with real and believable characters in his scripts.

    9. I find Neil Simon sort of hit or miss, but this play is pretty funny. I'm doing the part of Bobbi need to start studying lines at some point.
