    1. This was another freebie through the Nook, and honestly, I was surprised by how good it actually was! It was an amazingly fast read, which I love, and kept me on my toes (another surprise!). I don't know if I want to read the whole series, as I really loved the character in this one, and they change up the main characters in each of the books, but I may give it a try. This is a great summer read, as well as you could def finish this at the beach, for sure!

    2. This book is fun-- plain and simple. It has funny, quirky characters (I just love the aunts!) that make you laugh. It's a quick and easy read. I generally reserve 5 stars for truly fantastic books (so I don't give them often), so 4 stars to me is still a very, very good read. I definitely recommend it. I think I read somewhere that this is going to be part of a series. If so, I am very much looking forward to the next installment. Warning to Kindle users, however. It seems that the editing on th [...]

    3. I really quite enjoyed this book. This was my first by Ms Halliday, I found it hilarious. To the point that I literally had to set the book down a few times to wipe the tears from my eyes. Having a rather negative opinion of tabloid magazines and paparazzi, I wasn't sure I'd like this, since the main character is a tabloid writer. But I was quickly won over, and proceeded to get The Perfect Shot, book 2 in this series, and as soon as the third in the series comes available at B&N (I'm a nook [...]

    4. This book has it all: humor, mystery, suspense, PG romance and Hollywood gossip! (the cover is very misleading). This book made my laugh out loud. I love the author's humor. The main characters were great. The heroine, Tina Bender, gossip columnist for one of the Hollywoods tabloids, is spunky and entertaining. Add in a hunky bodyguard and some blind 'n' deaf aunts, and you have an enjoyable, humorus story. I will definetly be reading other books by this author. I was teetering on 4 stars, but d [...]

    5. Easy but fun read. Not a lot of depth to the story but the characters were relatable and it is a great stress reliever.

    6. 1 starI'm not entirely sure what genre this was supposed to be. It lacked the romance needed for Romantic Suspense, was too light and fluffy to be Suspense/Thriller, and once again, lacked the chemistry and romance between the H/h to be a Contemporary Romance. I would just toss it into the generalized Chick Lit section but then again I don't know any females who would enjoy reading an entire book starring an unethical (lies through her teeth in her daily gossip column), immoral (traded porn mags [...]

    7. Tina Bender is a gossip columnist for The Informer, a daily Hollywood paper that thrives on all the juicy details of Hollywood. Tina spends her days at work and her evenings at home with her elderly aunt. Tina is about to write about one the largest scandals taking place in Hollywood when she receives an anonymous voice message making a threat on her life. Tina takes this message to her editor. Tina insists it’s probably a prank. The editor calls someone in to be her bodyguard.Having written r [...]

    8. I previously read a book from Gemma Halliday which I enjoyed and had taken the opportunity of a discounted price to get the Hollywood headline set which stayed in the TBR shelf for a whileThat was a short and sweet romantic comedy, definitely more light-hearted than dramatic, and there's even one event in the book which I found all the more disturbing that it felt glossed over and not taking seriously (view spoiler)[ that was death by murder of a completely innocent bystander(hide spoiler)]. I l [...]

    9. #1 Hollywood Headlines series - romantic mysteryDNF (did not finish)This is a light, comic romantic mystery -- OK but not grabbing me enough. These days if I don't love it, I quickly move on to the next book.

    11. I enjoyed the High Heels Mysteries by Gemma Halliday more than this book. But it was still a relaxing, enjoyable read.

    12. This was a fun, light, and quick read. I like Halliday's writing and have read many of her books. I realized that I read the second in this series first, but they stand alone quite well.

    13. This is a book which would do well as a holiday read. It has murder, blackmail and romance alongside gossip columnists, bodyguards and two old aunts [one deaf and one almost completely blind]

    14. I really enjoyed this one. I thought Tina was pretty fun, though sometimes the lying and lengths she went to was a bit much. Calvin was interesting. I liked how he had issues with how Tina works and that he got along so well with her crazy/hysterical aunts. The twist at the end (or both twists) were fairly obvious, but they were still worth the journey. Also her aunts are a blast.

    15. Previously reviewed on simplylowcountryI 1) love cozies and 2) love Gemma Halliday. The two of those things combined is like heaven on paper. I finished the High Heels series, and decided to download the Hollywood Headlines series when I learned that Felix played an important role in these books. I figured it would be the closest thing to the High Heels series. I haven’t ventured much outside of Gemma Halliday when it comes to the cozy genre, so I’m sure there are many other good cozy author [...]

    16. Fun, quick read! If I could give this half stars I would have rated it 3.5 stars because it wasn't bad it was justwhat I expected. I've read reviews of Gemma's and one of the biggest complaints I often see is about her character's food choices. Yes, food choices! What a silly thing to get picky over, right? That's what I thought to myself before I started reading but after completing the book I do get it. Tina seemed have a diet only a ten year old who has spent their life being sheltered from f [...]

    17. This was such a fun book to read. It's been a while since I read a story that had comedy, mystery, suspense and a thrill all rolled up into one, with a little bit of romance. Such a cute story!Tina Bender works for The Informer as a gossip columnist, hated by most Hollywood celebrities. Was it any wonder that one day while she's about to break one of Hollywood's biggest scandals, she gets a message up on her laptop telling her if she prints one more story about them, it will be the last story sh [...]

    18. This book is the first in Gemma Halliday's new Hollywood Headlines series, featuring star gossip columnist, Tina Bender. Tina reports all the Hollywood dirt she can get her hands on. But when she gets a death threat, she's determined to find the culprit among Hollywood's stars. Her boss, Felix, who we first met in the Maddie Springer series, hires a bodyguard named Cal to watch over her. Do you see where this is going? There is a romantic spark between the two, but the romance is very PG rated. [...]

    19. This book was an easy read, & I liked this book. Good storyline, lots of drama, but didn't like the protagonist. Like the authors writing style though.

    20. This series introduces Tina Bender, a celebrity gossip columnist for Felix Dunn's paper, the L.A. Informer. If you've read the Maddie Springer books, you'll already be aware of Felix, who serves as a tie-in to this series along with Marco. Tina has apparently bit off more than she can chew with one of her columns, because she starts getting threatening phone calls and emails, which soon escalate to the point where someone trashes the home she lives at with her elderly aunt, rigs her bike to expl [...]

    21. Oyunbozan - Gemma Halliday Okundu ve Bitti.A Hollywood Headline Mystery üçlemesinin ilk kitabı Oyunbozan Aynı zamanda yazarın ülkemizde yayınlanan da ilk kitabı.

    23. My slightly guilty pleasure is that when I'm on an airplane trip, I read completely fluffy books like this one. For some reason I have trouble concentrating on anything deeper, so this is about the only time I pick up a cheap romance or gossip type book from the airport bookshop. In this case this book was a free download for my Nook, and has been sitting on it unread for months, so my trip home to Canada was the first time I was tempted to read it. Needless to say it's a light-reading bit of fl [...]

    24. The book started off as some kick-back, light entertainment. The main character was quirky & fairly likeable & the premise of a tabloid columnist being threatened had some interesting potential. It was fun to go with her as she tries to sniff out who's trying to kill her, especially from the point of view of a reporter rather than a policeman or detective. So what happened? Several things. The jokes with her absent-minded aunt were not only always the same; but they wore thin very quickly [...]

    25. I got this book for free for subscribing to Gemma Halliday's newsletter. If I bought it, I would regret the 5 USD it cost. I really love the High Heels Mysteries and thought this would be similar, but I just didn't like the main character and the plot. I am not going to buy the rest of this series.Tina Bender (the main character) works as a journalist and writes daily gossip column. She starts receiving threats from someone she writes about. She starts investigating who this person is. Her boss [...]

    26. This book cracked me up. I mean, seriously, abs-hurting, snorting, pain because I have to be silent while giggling cracked up. I loved Tina Bender and found I could somehow relate to her. I loved her crazy fashion-sense and purple hair. She had attitude, but was also very caring of her elderly aunts, who were pretty funny because they were all out insane. With age comes Daffy, I guess. I pretty much knew who her penpal was throughout the entire book, but that's okay. I love Halliday's descriptio [...]

    27. Wonderful Humorous Book! This is a great humorous book by Gemma Halliday. This is the first book in the Hollywood Headlines series. This is such a fun read that had me reading until the end. Tina Bender is a gossip columnist for a tabloid and is not afraid to print what she knows about everyone. That is until she receives a letter telling her “If you don’t stop writing about me, you’re dead.” The problem is she doesn’t know who sent it to her. She gets the help from her friends to try a [...]

    28. Very You've Got Mail. I enjoyed this book, however I was quite frustrated with the last 20 or so pages because it seemed like the author just gave up on punctuation; there were conversations going on with no quotation marks. That is a simple editing error that could have easily been corrected, but since it was not it distracted me from the story and made it less enjoyable. That being said, I loved Cal! (view spoiler)[It was so obvious that he was ManInBlack72, but that did not make me any less h [...]
